NASA just dropped a breathtaking video: they’re colonising the moon in 2024
We are going to the Moon — to stay.

We will build sustainable infrastructure to support missions to Mars and beyond. This is what we’re building. This is what we’re training for. We are going. #Moon2024 pic.twitter.com/dgL6NoZ2Rj
On 14 May NASA presented the next step in its 2018 strategic plan. A step that has science enthusiasts’ hearts pounding with excitement, sci-fi fans imaginations running wild and evil masterminds worrying about real estate prices. NASA wants to build a base on the Moon.
In a decision mirroring Kennedy’s decision to go to the Moon in the first place, Trump has requested NASA to ‘accelerate’ plans to return to the moon. By 2024, humans will have to land on the Moon’s surface again and start exploring more of its surface. In the words of NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine:
“This time, when we go to the Moon, we will stay. And then we will use what we learn on the Moon to take the next giant leap – sending astronauts to Mars.”

Explicitly drawing parallels with its Apollo Program, NASA says its goal is to inspire with “frats of science and exploration.” Going to the Moon is now just a step in the new grand scheme to bring mankind to Mars “and beyond.” Also, bring your dog.
