Thanks to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes, the ones who see things differently, Apple was able to build this incredible spaceship. Apple’s new HQ, or Apple Park as it will be called, is 175-acres, energy independent, houses 12,000 employees and as you can see on the video, looks rather spectacular. It was originally estimated that the costs would be a half a billion dollars; the land alone cost $160 million. But costs have overrun a bit. The budget blew up to a little under $3 billion in 2011 and almost $5 billion by 2013. But who cares, Apple is worth about three-quarters of a trillion dollars: $750 billion (!).

And they will keep on growing because Apple relies on the iPhone for nearly 70% of its sales, and the new iPhone 8 is to be launched later this year. Is it a phone we need? Of course not, our iPhone sixes or sevens are working just fine. Do we go to the store and buy one anyway? Yeah, probably.
