A 33-year-old man has died on Wednesday, late afternoon in the inner city of Oldenburg, Germany. Before being stabbed, he was arguing with two men aged 22, according to a police statement. Preliminary investigations seem to indicate the men were arguing religion, when one of the 22-year-olds pulled out a knife and stabbed the older man.
Two days ago, Algemeiner published a story about the dr. Sarah Halimi, a 66-year-old Jewish pensioner residing in Paris, who was brutally tortured before being murdered by 27-year-old immigrant from Mali, who yelled “Allah Akhbar” while committing his crime. Investigators think he planned a suicide attack. When asked about his target, Schröter said:”we presume Berlin.” According to preliminary findings of the police, the suspect has immigrated to Germany in 2015, illegaly, and has since registered as an asylum seeker.
Soon after the suspect had entered Sweden with his wife and kids in 2015, SAPO intercepted telephone calls in which he stated to have “travelled to Europe in order to carry out Jihad” and that he is “a State’s soldier”, referring to the shrinking caliphate in Syria and Iraq.
When the retrial took place, the Higher Court reached a verdict of seven years; way lower than the maximum of 15 years it could have given. But yesterday, the Austrian Supreme Court ruled that even that sentence was too severe, and lowered the punishment to 4 years in prison in a final verdict.
What happened that night is not exactly known. Some sources claim that the girl agreed to meet with the man, others merely state that they were members of the same group. What is clear, however, is that the girl claims that around 23:30 the man from Eritrea raped her. She confided in a friend, who informed the police immediately. Not much later, the Eritrean man was picked up at the Hennef railway station by the crew of a police patrol car.
The Austrian newspaper ‘Krone’ yesterday published an interview with the 15-year-old victim of the Tulln gang rape, which took place at the end of April 2017. An Afghan and a Somali asylum seeker have been arrested in the case, while a third suspect is still at large.
