According to the source, the “supposed back story” is that:
“He was tracked by armed police after being reported buying 3 massive knives from a shop in East Ham, London.”
There’s precious little additional information on the arrest, but one might be forgiven for daring to think that he might not have intended to use them to peel tonight’s potatoes.
Metro.uk now reports:
“A man was arrested at gunpoint after he was found to have three huge machete-style knives in his bag.
The man was taken off a London bus on Monday, two days after the terror attack in London Bridge which left seven dead.
This incident is not believed to be terror-related, but comes as police carry out raids across London following the stabbings in Borough Market.
The incident occurred at around 2pm on Barking Road in Plaistow, east London, which has been the scene of several recent disturbances, according to the Standard.”
