So yeah, Bentley presented their Bentayga last year. It was Bentley’s outstretched hand to the Range Rover owners of this world, who felt that spending €199.630 on their 525 bhp Range Rover 5.0 v8 supercharged Vogue just wasn’t giving them the luxury standards that would see them through their existential voids. To ease that pain, Bentley provided them with a new €288.000 option. The Bentayga came equipped with a 600 bhp W12 6.0-liter engine, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 301 km/h, making it the world’s fastest SUV. But we’re talking Bentley here, so customers could, of course, choose from 15 different types of leather inside, and choose from 11 standard exterior paint colors with a palette of over 100 unique shades. So yes, this is pretty much the most luxurious SUV money can buy.

Well, then Rolls Royce pulled a “Hold my beer”.

They are going to call it the Cullinan, which is a reference to a 3106-carat jewel unearthed in South Africa in 1905, that’s said to be the largest flawless diamond ever found. Check out some un-embeddable moving footage right here!

It will be packed with a majestic 6.75 Liter V12 with 2 turbochargers, borrowed from the new Phantom. And to express how wonderful it will be from the inside, think of this when you drive towards your Gstaad skiing destination; Rolls packs their new cars with 130 kilos of isolation material and 6mm thick glass. Even the tires will have isolation material on the inside. The Cullinan looks like a driving castle and promises to be the most amazing SUV driving experience the world has ever seen.

And it should, because if the Cullinan borrows the Phantom’s €550.000 price tag, it should damn well be worth 2 fully loaded Bentaygas. When we learn more we will keep you posted. For now, let’s marvel at the spy shots!
