Yesterday evening at 10:33 the police were contacted to report an explosion at Manchester Arena, where teen pop idol Ariana Grande was about to perform.
Reports now confirm it was a suicide attack inside the arena, which killed 22 people and injured 59, many of them teens.
On Twitter, multiple teens are posting pictures of their missing friends. It is yet unclear whether they have been killed but not yet identified, or that their bodies haven’t been found at all.
The latest Manchester Police statement reads:
“We are treating this as a terrorist attack and we believe, at this stage, the attack last night was conducted by one man. The priority is to establish if he was acting alone or as part of a network. The attacker, I can confirm, died at the arena. We believe the attacker was carrying an improvised explosive device which he detonated causing this atrocity.”
