Netflix is steady continuing their quest for world domination, and one large part of their strategy is that every writer, director or producer with an idea, actually gets a shot of making their movie or series. Netflix needs content, lots of it. Of course, this is amazing for artists who’d like to see their movie made, but for us viewers, it’s either great or a major drag. For every Stranger Things and Fargo, there is a Fuller House or The Ranch.

In the great department though, 2018 started off well. The horror flick The Ritual was pretty good, this year Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman will, of course, be amazing, and apparently, they just launched another movie that is in favour with the critics.

It’s called Veronica, it’s a Spanish horror movie and it has a 67% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes (which is quite impressive for a horror movie), and all critics agree that it if you feel like dying from cardiac arrest, this flick should do the trick. It’s from the director of REC (go see it!) and it’s about a young woman who must protect her younger brother and sister after she attempts to bring back the spirit of their dead father through an Ouija ritual. Sure, has been done before loads of times, but hey, if it’s done right, we’ll watch it. With the lights on.
