They’ve got Padme, lightsabers, a hip-hopping Chewie, dancing princess Leia in bikini chain-tied to Jabba the Hutt, Stormtrooper strippers, R2D2, Darth Vader’s sister in latex, half-naked imperial army ladettes, Boba Fett’s ex-girlfriend with flamethrowers, C3PO’s bionic wife and, of course, a female Luke Skywalker. This show is all about gender equality, female empowerment and it was about time.

It’s a Star Wars themed burlesque show, and of course, it’s called The Empire Strips Back.

The show is performed in Australia and the US, but due to parody laws, it cannot be performed in New Zealand, and we genuinely feel for those Kiwis. They’ll just have to do with that boring Han Solo movie. Tickets still available, but for those of you who don’t want to fly all the way to Australia, know that they: “would love to come to the UK.” Sign up on their website and demand your rights.
