SVT Nyheter reports that just before 21:00 on Friday, July 14, police were notified of a rape that took place in a forest in Barkarby, Northwest of Sweden’s capital Stockholm. According to Oskar Tallryd, the station officer of the area North of Stockholm:

There are three perpetrators reported, but so far no arrests have been made, nor do we have concrete suspects. The victim was taken to hospital for a check-up, but has since left. We have interviewed her and secured the crime scene during the night, and are hopeful for the investigation. According to our data, the victim and the suspects have had no prior relations.

Oskar Tallryd is also quoted in Aftonbladet:

Witness reports are scarce, but it seems that there are three perpetrators, aged 15-20 years old.

Aftonbladet reports further that the 45-year-old victim was given a lift by the three men on a moped, which was later found abandoned by the police. It is yet unclear if a second or third vehicle was also involved.

Halfway to their destination, the men stopped and dragged her in a pair of bushes in a wooded area, where she was raped. After the group violence, the perpetrators used the same moped to make their escape. Mattias Lundström, station officer with the police, confirmed that:

The victim has traveled on a moped, that’s all I know and can say at this time.

But Aftonbladet says it has information that the moped was found and seized it for technical investigation. The paper also claims that bodily fluids of one of the perpetrators have been found.

A write-up by Expressen quotes some of the Aftonbladet story, while adding a few details of its own. It quotes police officers Mikael Petterson, who gives some more details about the crime scene, stating:

the offense was committed in a wooded area Southwest of Barkarby commuter train station. It is on a wooded lane, or jogging trail, through the area.

There is a mention that the woman’s injuries were non-life-threatening, and that the perpetrators fled the scene on a moped. An Expressen photographer who visited the scene on Friday evening says he saw four police cars there, a number that is confirmed by Petterson.

Expressen also provides the most detailed description of the perpetrators, quoting station officer Oskar Tallryd, just as SVT:

The description we have received is that the suspects were dark-clad, 15 to 20 years old, had an East-African appearance and escaped on a moped. That is the most detailed description we have.
